I was admitted to Renown at the same time Brandon was starting his shift for the night. I was gravely ill with what we would later find out to be a rare form of colitis. My symptoms and fears were enormous. About 10 minutes into my room stay, my nurse, Brandon, entered and proceeded to start prepping me for my emergency colonoscopy for the next day. He remained calm, steady, and kind throughout his entire shift. He took every precaution that came our way. He reached out to his team with passion every time he felt he needed more knowledge on any situation that presented itself in order to expand his knowledge in the practice of medicine in the safest manner. I received my colonoscopy and he was my nurse for my second night in the hospital. That night, he was working just as hard to ensure my recovery process was going to be handled just as safely and investigated thoroughly my medication interactions, and closely monitored my low blood pressure. I have never met a person who has such a passion for learning and striving to improve not just his ability to become the best in his field but also did it with such grace, sincerity, and honest care for everyone around him. I am now a different person for having this experience with such an individual who has the most indomitable spirit I have ever encountered. Thank you, Brandon, for changing my life for the better.
