My husband had multiple times where he did not feel safe, but he felt like when Brenda was here, he was safe, and he was going to be okay.
My husband was a patient during the COVID crisis, and Brenda was assigned as his nurse. For the duration of his stay, she was a nurse that he had mentioned that made him feel safe and cared for. He stated that she would always come and round on him and see how he was doing, offer him small items like bathroom privileges which can go unnoticed during a busy period. He said Brenda was always courteous to him and would listen to what he had to say.
My husband had multiple times where he did not feel safe, but he felt like when she was here, he was safe, and he was going to be okay. My husband was very sick during this time and being in a small room with no windows and a zipper door increased the anxiety he already had about being admitted to the hospital. Brenda would come and check on him when he would ring his bell and assure him that things were okay and calm him when needed. During this time of crisis, she still practiced exemplary nursing care and made the patients feel like they mattered and that they were safe. My husband is very appreciative of the care he received and hopes there are more nurses like her.
