Brenda Scott consistently adheres to the CARES behaviors and exemplifies a superior role model as an RN in the Pulmonary Department at Kaseman. Her experience and attentiveness to patient care has aided the department and our patients in recognizing critical situations.
Specifically, Brenda was evaluating a patient and recognized that he was in A-Fib and took the initiative to perform an ECG. The report indicated that the patient was having a heart attack and measures were put in place to contact the paramedics and have him transported immediately to the downtown hospital.
Her clinical skills as a previous ICU nurse have helped to establish superior outcomes in more than one instance. As a patient advocate, Brenda consistently makes choices to benefit the patient. Not only is she a patient advocate but she demonstrates a positive attitude for Presbyterian Hospital and its organization.

Brenda Scott has proven to be an excellent example of how nursing and caring should be. She truly cares about each of her patients and has the knowledge and skills to perform in a manner that is above excellence. She is such an asset to our department and is the "go to" person for all of the ordering. She has cross-trained to do all the jobs that are available in the pulmonary department. She is always there to fill in for someone that is sick or on vacation. She works well with the physicians and other staff members as well as with the patients and their families.
Brenda is kind and smart and caring and has all the qualities necessary to be recognized as an outstanding nurse for Presbyterian Healthcare Services. She is truly an outstanding nurse and I am proud of her and happy to be part of her team.
