I would like to thank Nurse Brigitte for truly making me feel like I was in great hands during my stay in the CCU. I came into the hospital experiencing bad chest pains and ultimately experienced a NSTEMI. When I came in, my BP was extremely high, and it was difficult to get it regulated. I am only 46 and my father died of a heart attack when he was 52, as you can imagine my anxiety and fear were great. Brigitte made sure I was as comfortable as I could be the first night there and just something about her demeanor eased my worries. She is no-nonsense and gets down to business, but she also spoke to me on a human and empathetic level that comforted me. My blood pressure rose again the next day after her shift, and when she came in at night, she said, "What happened??? Well, time to do what I do!" and she did. She radiates an aura of confidence and knowledge, and I just felt so safe in her care. That really helped me cope with the emotions I was experiencing. I had great care from everyone at Southwest, but Brigitte was my rock, and I would love for her to be recognized for the amazing work she does!
