Brittany was our nurse when our mother had a massive stroke and was brought to ICU. Even though our mother was nonresponsive, Brittany cared for her in a loving, professional way and treated her as a human being by talking to her gently. When we were making difficult decisions about our mother's living will, Brittany shared with us the facts but was clearly empathetic as we talked about how to help our mom end her life in a loving, dignified manner.
