Brittany went above and beyond for my son and me. He was having difficulty breathing, and I was a panicked parent. She made a sweet connection with my son and with me.  She related to him and knew what I was going through. I was alone with my son and literally had nothing but him, my cellphone, and my wallet with me, and she really put me at ease. She made a connection with my son and really kept me up to date with what was going on, answered all my questions, and even made sure I was doing OK! I cannot stress enough how appreciative I am of her asking how I was doing and if I needed a bathroom break or something to eat or drink. She checked on my son and cared for him so gently and kindly, but she checked in with me. I can't express enough how caring she is. She did everything with kindness and grace. I know I shouldn't be so shocked by her care, but I don't think I'm articulating well enough how thankful I am for her care. She is literally the only person to get my son to keep all the oral medication in his mouth without spitting it out. I don't know what kind of sorcery she used, but she should precept people on her technique. She was so gentle with my son and even though she was a stranger, she really put me at ease when handling him for some of the not-so-fun parts of his care. Did she get tasked with a rectal temp on a 13 month old, you bet! Not fun, but she was really patient with him. She even brought him snacks and apple juice! Snacks! I literally brought nothing with us and she brought him snacks and juice, and I was totally embarrassed for leaving all his things behind in my panicked state, and she took all that shame away with some kind words. I will say it again: she took my guilty mom shame away! I cannot express how thankful I was for her care towards my son and myself! I hope I was able to express that in writing. Oh, she and her preceptor or Charge nurse who was assisting in care got my son a blanket before we left! I brought him in only a onesie and it was cold when we left. Literal celestial women! I can't express all the moments that make them great, but just know what they did impacted me greatly. I'm extremely appreciative. Thank you!
