Brittany

MSN, RN, NE-BC, CPNP
Brittany is an extraordinary PCD and role model. She inspires her nurses to meet their full potential and truly embodies the core values of NYP - excellence, respect, teamwork, and integrity. Not only does she go above and beyond to improve our unit, but she is integral to CHONY at large by chairing the quality HAPI committee and leading the hospital mentorship program and resiliency group. Brittany is a unifier and relationship builder in times of conflict. Recently, she worked tirelessly to help better our RN/NP relationship and improve our unit culture.
She was the visionary and change agent who encouraged our unit council, individual nurses, NPs, and upper management to come together and brainstorm ways to better morale and communication on the unit. Her ongoing help and efforts are so appreciated. Additionally, with Brittany’s persistence and support, a few months ago, 8C increased our staffing ratios on the floor. This change has already bettered patient safety, care, and morale in the unit. And it’s not just the big things that Brittany has done to empower and inspire the nurses that make her so special.
Recently, during an RRT on one of our patients, Brittany came to speak with the mom and made sure that she was okay and that all of her concerns were addressed before transferring her to the ICU. She’s always asking what she can do to help her staff and her families. With her staff specifically, she encourages self-care, breaks, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Her professionalism, humility, and dedication to each patient and to her staff are unparalleled. Her boundless optimism and natural ability to create an environment of compassion and respect inspire her staff to be their best every day and is part of the reason why we are SO lucky to have her as our PCD. Brittany deserves to be recognized for all of her hard work and dedication. She truly deserves the Nurse Leader DAISY Award.
