Brooke Palmer is an incredible nurse that deserves to be recognized. I have never met a nurse that is so kind and respectful to every patient that comes to this unit, especially those who are here to die. She is extraordinarily dedicated to ensuring not only the quality of each patient's life but also the quality and dignity as they die. She is the most compassionate person I have ever met, and she touches the lives of every single one of her patients. Patients have a better death when she is their nurse. She is a gem of a nurse and I would love to see her recognized for all she does for our veterans.

Brooke is amazing at whatever the task is. I love how she greets the patient that is being admitted to the unit by waiting at the front for them. I love how she interacts with the hospice family members and the vet. Brooke is very loving and caring and won't stop until she gets the job done. I love how she does honors escort for our veterans that have passed. Brooke is dedicated to her job and if a vet is not happy with their meal, she will walk to the canteen and get them something else. She is just amazing!

Brooke primarily provides care to hospice patients. At time of death, an honors escort ceremony is conducted. Brooke creates a written summary of the patient which is read during the ceremony. It contains important aspects of the patient's personality, interests, relationship, and impact of his/her life on others. She includes a poem and helps make the ceremony meaningful to the family and staff. She ensures that veterans receive dignity, compassion, and respect at the end of life and this treatment extends to them after death.

Brooke always goes above and beyond with our hospice patients. She is compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, and kind. She is an amazing nurse and a wonderful co-worker.

Brooke is a very good nurse. She takes her job seriously. She is very fair by helping techs answer call lights, changing patients, and turning patients. There was a time I did not understand what a patient's diagnosis was and she took her time to help me look it up and explain it all to me. Thank you, Brooke, for your hard work.
