Carla Aurand, RN

My daughter underwent a c-section. During her time there, she had several nurses tend to her, and while they were all generally kind and did their jobs, Carla stood out head-and-shoulders above the rest. She instantly formed a relationship with her, helping her to feel calm, despite her severe anxiety. Carla's willingness to educate and inform her patient, helped my daughter to feel in control, though it was evident Carla was very much in control of every situation, guiding and assisting with true concern for her patient. While there may not be a specific moment of super-hero style heroics in this story, Carla stands out because EVERY moment of the care she gave was handled with compassion. No need was insignificant or undeserving of her attention. I'm grateful she was there for my daughter during a time she was scared and in pain. Carla's presence made an extraordinary impact on our experience, and I hope she is seen and recognized for the quality nurse and wonderful person she is.
