After being rolled into surgery and getting on the operating table, I don't remember much. I didn't stay long in Recovery after waking up. The young nurse rolled me up to my room on the 2nd floor and there to greet me was the sweetest nurse, Ms. Carol. She was so energetic and, even still a little out of it, I could tell she loved what she did. She greeted me and said, "Congrats on your new beginning". I never thought of it this way but it made sense. She made sure my pain was maintained and she educated me on what to expect. She was so chipper, I wish I could have brought her home with me. I hated to see her leave but she told me what she expected of me to help heal. And then, she hurt my feelings by telling me she would be off the next few days as she introduced my new nurse of the hour. Ms. Carol was awesome! God sent his angel (Ms. Carol) to greet me after getting 27 staples to let me know I was on my way to the healing process. Thanks, Ms. Carol for being awesome! You made the beginning of my stay at the hospital great. Your first impression was definitely a lasting one.
