In preparation for her 2 day Childbirth Education class, Cathy Akin calls all of her registered participants. She calls them to inform them of where to go, what to bring, and what time to arrive. During one of these phone conversations, the mother of the participant spoke to Cathy. The mother of the participant revealed to Cathy that the participant was only 15 years old, and she and the father of the baby were not together. The mother of the participant was extremely upset and crying. Cathy went above and beyond and brought the young, expectant mother in for a personal, one-on-one session to cover topics that the young mother might feel uncomfortable about in a classroom setting. This was done to alleviate some of the stress the mother and expectant mother were experiencing.
Cathy made time to meet the needs of both customers that day.
