Charlene is deserving of a DAISY award for opening her heart and home to babies in need. For 30 years, Charlene’s mother has served as a foster parent and Charlene is now following in her footsteps and also serves as a foster parent. To date, Charlene has provided foster care to 5 children who were in need of love and support and two of those babies were from MLK Community Healthcare.
These moms are struggling with something and Charlene stays in touch with them while they are separated from their children. The goal is to reunite these babies with their moms when the time is right. Charlene has shown these moms so much compassion.
One of her staff members wrote, “Charlene has an unwavering commitment and compassion in providing a loving home for these little ones. Her dedication truly embodies the values of our organization which are caring, collaboration, accountability, respect, and excellence and exemplifies the spirit of the DAISY Award. Her story is a testament to her character and the profound impact she’s making in the lives of these children and their families.”
