Charmaine was a pleasure to work with when our procedural nurses arrived unexpectedly to take her patient down for a procedure. Our unit was extremely busy on this day, and Charmaine's helpful and competent practice was appreciated. When we arrived, Charmaine jumped up to help us get the patient ready for their procedure while giving report. The patient was very anxious, and Charmaine was kind and caring. She gave the patient confidence by telling her she was in great hands. These words gave the patient confidence and allowed us to continue that confidence, making the patient's experience 10 times better. The patient also explained that while she was in the procedure, Charmaine had sat down and explained everything about her procedure after the doctors left her with many questions. Charmaine's actions exuded not only Augusta Health's values but also her nursing oath by fully advocating for her patient in a time of need. Ultimately, her actions helped not only the patient's experience but also that of other interdisciplinary departments.
