Charmaine Martin, RN

We recently had a Pediatric patient admitted from the Emergency Department who was in a very difficult situation. The patient was admitted shortly after shift change, and soon thereafter, the ED nurse who had taken care of this patient all night came to Pediatrics with two bags full of items for the patient and their sibling. Charmaine had gone to Walmart after working a 12+ hour shift, to buy this child and their sibling clothes, socks, and blankets as they arrived with nothing to keep them warm. This was a very heartbreaking situation, but it was incredible to see the true compassion and care Charmaine displayed for this patient by going above and beyond to provide for their basic needs.
