Miss Chelsea is a petite, very affectionate, kind-hearted, jolly nurse at the unit. Why kind hearted? I experienced at least 2x of hypoglycemia, Chelsea is always at my rescue to give something to eat like chocolate, biscuits etc. She treats me like her own family. To me, she is also very intelligent cause whenever you ask anything related to hemodialysis she will answer and explain everything with empathy. So, wrap up, Chelsea is affectionate, kind hearted, compassionate, tolerant, gentle and skillful nursing staff to be considered to receive the DAISY Award. Yes, she deserves it. As the attending nurse during my visits at the Renal Center, Nurse Chelsea's presence has always relieved my anxiety of receiving the treatment. She has a calming effect on me and without words lets me know that I should not worry, it's okay to be here and we're going to take care of you. In the two years that I have known Chelsea, I feel like we've developed a grandparent-granddaughter relationship. I always look forward to seeing her during my visits even if she is not the attending nurse because I know she will always stop by to see me. Chelsea demonstrates these qualities with all the patients at the Renal Center. She is a kind and caring person who shows compassion and concern and will always make an effort to comfort a patient in pain. On many occasions she has stopped by to see me, hug me and hold my hand and massage my legs when I was in pain. This is unique and is far above our highest expectations of hospital care. She is a great communication and is always careful to show concern with feeling for the patients' needs. Chelsea is a credit to her profession and would be very deserving of the DAISY Award.
