This Patient has spent hours of severe pain from morning until Chelsie came in at 7 pm-she took over the situation immediately, stating she would call the surgeon, make sure the pain meds would be increased and would find out and report the high blood pressure and get help for that problem also. The patient's blood pressure was handled, the pain medication was addressed so that within 1 hour of Chelsie starting her shift, the patient's pain rating went from 9/10 down to a 3. She kept the family informed of each step of the process and gave the numbers of the nurses' stations and told the family to call any time during the night. Chelsie was kind, compassionate and caring with wonderful skills and judgment. Her personality is calming and she was a "breath of fresh air" A true role model!!! THANK YOU!!
