I was a patient last week and again this week. I needed transfusions once a week for 3 weeks. Chi remembered me from last week and knew I was under extreme stress as my husband of 35 years is being treated for cancer. He had surgery yesterday and I wanted to cancel this appointment, but he insisted I take care of myself.
Chi was so kind, compassionate, and efficient. She was so sweet and remembered me and my history. She expedited my infusion and gave me the emotional support I needed. I honestly think I would not have kept my next appointment if not for her. She has the bedside manner and technical skills that you need to be a good nurse, but she also has compassion. She appreciated that I needed this treatment but also needed to get back to the other hospital to be with my husband. I will never forget how kind she was.
Chi leads her team as a Charge Nurse and provides hands on support to the team so that the needs of the patients are met. I can only hope that she is here next time I need her! You are so fortunate to have her. I can only assume that outpatient RN's do not get recognized for what they do because it's not usually very critical and we don't stay long in the department, but she deserves it. I work as a clinical director in another facility and I know an exceptional nurse when I meet them. She is one. I would love to steal her, but she loves working here and has so many great things to say about the organization and her team.
