Although he was not able to physically dance, he was able to escape the challenges he was facing and get lost in the music.
Chris had a profound impact on my experience as I supported my husband in the final weeks of his life. It is hard to put into words everything she did for me, but I will do my best to provide a concise summary. Chris and the nurses helped me understand how to best support my husband throughout the diagnostic procedures, labs, and cancer diagnosis. She helped me with understanding the terminology. While hospitalized, my husband requested that my brother and a few of his band members come and sing. R loved music and dancing. I asked Chris if this would be possible, and by Friday of that week, my husband was brought to the waiting room, where he was able to listen to live music. Although he was not able to physically dance, he was able to escape the challenges he was facing and get lost in the music. Little did I know, that was our last dance. He had a cardiac arrest on the following Sunday. Chris and the nurses helped us have “Our Last Dance." I will be forever grateful.
