Christa is an amazing person and an incredible nurse. Right off the bat, she was very caring and compassionate about caring for my daughter. She got to know my husband and me and took excellent care of my very sick daughter. She was the “only” nurse who cared about the intermittent stomach pump that was barely functioning. She listened to us and kept my daughter from vomiting constantly. When my daughter's health took a turn for the worse, she was able to detect it and contacted her physician to immediately take precautionary measures to prevent her from getting sicker. She held my daughter’s hand during the worst time when I couldn’t be there. She always had a person training under her and went above and beyond to teach her new nurse to the best of her ability. If ANMC had many people like Christa, Alaskan Natives would have the healthiest people in the entire world. Christa deserves the recognition she deserves, she is a hard worker, and my daughter loves her SO MUCH because she truly cares.
