This is the first time in my life that I can honestly say I did not want to leave the hospital. Not because the food was the best, or that I loved being a pin cushion for IVs and lab draws, or that I slept like a baby, it's because of the nurse who took care of me the three days I was her patient. Christi and I talked about our husbands and kids and her career and how much she loved her unit she works on and the nurses she works with. She showed a genuine interest in my family and children. We even determined that a couple of our kids were in class together when they were younger. You would never have known she had other patients the way she took care of me or that the three days she did have me as her patient were her last three of six in a row. Never did she seem tired, anxious, overworked or agitated. Over three days we may have had a patient/nurse relationship but in my heart, I developed a true friend whom I was honored to have as my nurse.
