This award is for extraordinary nurses, this would be the perfect way to describe Christina. She is kind, giving and a loving nurse. She tends to my husband's needs while he is there. She makes me feel comfortable while I am there with him.
Our first visit, we both were scared to death. Cancer is scary. She put us at ease explaining what would be done and how it would be done. She talks with us about family, my dogs and just everything. She takes her position as a Cancer Nurse seriously. She is a nurse, but also a nurse that cares for her patient and their family member. Christina is an angel in disguise. She has become more like family, greets you with a big smile and a bigger hug. She makes you feel comfortable, you could forget you are in the hospital. You do not hesitate to ask her a question, because you know she will give the best answer she can.
We laugh together. If I am down because of my husband's cancer, Christina listens to me and makes me feel so much better. The big man upstairs sent us to Methodist Hospital and then he sent us to Christina. There are a lot of nurses that could learn things from her to make patients feel better, just having someone like her around. She is a great big ray of sunshine on a gloomy day. She is a DAISY!
