Christopher’s advocacy led to a very positive experience for us. Christopher has a lot of experience with dementia patients, which proved to be very valuable in my mother's situation.
My mother spent much of her time on the ICU. Let me start off by saying the care my mom received at CSMO was great! However, the EXTRAORDINARY Nurse we had was Christopher Lightle! The other nurses we had were very nice and engaging, but somehow, Christopher broke through to my mom. His demeanor was admiring, friendly, and had an appropriate sense of humor. He figured out my mom's comprehension level quickly and didn’t use too much “medical terminology” that was difficult to understand. Christopher had a subtle confidence and a “take charge” manner that wasn’t pushy. His interactions with the physicians were impressive, and they worked well together. The doctors appeared to appreciate his experience and opinion. Christopher’s advocacy led to a very positive experience for us. Christopher has a lot of experience with dementia patients, which proved to be very valuable in my mother's situation. I wanted to try a “sleeping plan” to help with my mother's delirium. Christopher listened and helped to make sure the other members of my mothers care team were on the same page. To be honest, I was scared to mention the “sleeping plan” because I didn’t want to be an inconvenience to the care team, but Christopher and the rest of the staff were supportive and embraced my ideas. Again, the entire staff offered great care but Christopher’s time with my mother really resonated with us and offered extra comfort through this difficult time.

Note: This is Christopher's 2nd DAISY Award!
