Mr. Mennig was nominated by a patient who stated, “Chris treated me as a whole person, mind, and body. He always kept a calming attitude and made me feel much more at ease. Chris went beyond his normal nursing duties. It is rare to find someone as special as him”.

Mr. Mennig comes from a long line of healthcare professionals as well as an inspiring family. Chris is a 2021 graduate of the University of Scranton where he earned a Bachelor of Nursing. Mr. Mennig started working for Geisinger as a nursing assistant in December 2018.

He stated, “I chose Geisinger after taking a look at other hospitals in the area. Through clinical and other experiences, I realized it was the best choice for me and exactly what I wanted. Geisinger’s level of care is above and beyond anything I've seen in the area. The best thing about the Progressive Care Unit is the patient diversity and the opportunity to grow in every facet of nursing. Every day is something entirely new and of course, my team members are great and make it a lot easier to get up at night and go to work”.
