We knew my son was not going to survive (due to having no functioning kidneys) when I delivered at almost 36 weeks. I had never met Christy but she was beside me the entire time, through all my emotions— she held my hand through every push, she dried every tear, and she never stopped checking on me. She exemplified every quality you wish an L&D nurse to have- my circumstances were not ideal, but I wouldn’t choose any other nurse to be beside me during such a tragedy; my only wish is she would have been able to share a happier moment with me. I’ll never forget the hospitality she and the other nurses showed me during those painstaking days.
