When your loved one gets admitted into the ICU, a lot of fear and anxiety starts to settle in. The uncertainty and severity of the situation creates a heightened level of stress. The entire staff at Queen's has displayed that "Patients are their #1 priority".
Christy has however displayed an exceptional level of care and concern while treating my father. We have been fortunate enough to have her taking care of dad on multiple days.
Throughout the roller coaster ride of events, Christy has created an environment that allowed us all, especially my dad, to voice concerns, ask for clarification, and most importantly she made us feel confident in the level of care dad was receiving. She kept us updated and informed and explained things in a way that allowed me to relay the message on to the rest of our family.
In a culture like ours that doesn't like to make things "humbug" Christy made my dad comfortable enough that he would tell her when he wasn't comfortable. Her level of care is so genuine and exemplifies what caring for patients look like. She is so amazing that my father has told me on multiple occasions how awesome she is. Thank you, Christy, for taking care of my dad with the highest possible standard of excellence. You are amazing.
I can't find enough words to express our gratitude to Christy and the care she has given to dad. The best way I can explain it is that she found her calling. Caring for patients is not easy, especially my dad and yet she made this entire experience so positive.
