I wanted to recognize Christy Martin for the extraordinary nurse that she is! She has worked in our critical care area for many years and has shown compassion and caring for her staff, families, and patients. She has many times taken our especially chronic patients in CCU under her wing to help make their experience better in some way. I have seen her organize trips to our Flamingo Therapy Garden and brighten a patient and family's day by getting them outside their patient rooms. She will go out of her way to provide a "spa day" with hair washing and refreshing care for those patients too long in CCU. Families love the hugs that Christy provides during her day.
Recently on Christmas Day, she came in on her day off to provide Christmas cheer and gifts with her family to patients and staff. She dressed as a Christmas elf and family as Mr. and Mrs. Claus. It is time to recognize this wonderful compassionate RN.
