I'm in tears now as I type this. Cindy brought such comfort to me.
It was about 1:30 am when I received a call from Cindy in the ER that my son had overdosed. I started shaking and couldn't even think clearly. He was not breathing on his own. We live about 90 minutes away. She said to me, "You stay put and I will be in touch with you if his condition changes." I asked her to tell him I loved him and would be there soon. She said, "Each day I ask God to show me what he wants me to do." Then she said, "I'll be his mom tonight."
I'm in tears now as I type this. Cindy brought such comfort to me. I asked her to pray over him. The crazy thing is that I never met her. We spent the next eight days driving up and back, but due to COVID, I could not go to the ER. He was moved to the ICU.
Today he is back in treatment! I can never ever thank her enough. Of course, we met others in the ICU, etc. They were wonderful too...but Cindy's compassion for me and him stand out.
