Cody was my foster son's nurse for multiple days over our stay at Texas Children's Hospital. He continuously made us feel comfortable and went way above and beyond any other nurse that we had the pleasure of meeting. At one point, I became very frustrated and started crying. He not only offered me a break, but he was also able to almost immediately calm my son. He shows love and compassion to the children and the families as well. This does not appear to just be a job for him but a true passion. We can tell that Cody genuinely loves what he does and the children that he works with. He's always dancing when good things happen and is always positive. As medical foster parents, we encounter many doctors and nurses but have never met one quite like Cody. If any nurse in your entire hospital system deserves the DAISY Award, it is Cody Nelms.
