I could tell it meant a great deal to the patient to have Connie take the time to give her genuine care and attention to detail.
Connie is consistently compassionate, kind, and caring towards her patients. She is always putting a patient’s needs first. A prime example of this happened when we had a patient who was very concerned about her long hair getting tangled or soiled during the procedure. Connie put her hair into a bonnet and assured her it would protect her hair. After the procedure, Connie took the bonnet off, gently teased out the patient’s hair, and braided it for her. I could tell it meant a great deal to the patient to have Connie take the time to give her genuine care and attention to detail. It warmed my heart. She is an exceptional nurse and seems to know what the patient needs before they even ask.
Connie is a team player, not just for Interventional Radiology but the entire hospital. There was a night that the power went out, and Connie volunteered to help the pharmacy get the medications to where they needed to go. Keep in mind in a large level I Trauma hospital that meant she had to go up and down the stairs mostly in the dark. I’m sure her legs were burning and pretty tired, but she did it because the patient’s well-being is a priority. I firmly believe she is an angel in disguise.
