Hackensack Meridian Health - Pascack Valley Medical Center
Corey Melillo has been an endoscopy nurse for 2 years. She came in as a part-time nurse, mainly working from 7 am - 1 am. Whenever needed, she stayed to help on busy days, never needing to be asked. Corey is very versatile and always willing to learn new things. She trained in the infusion center when they needed help, and during the first months of covid joined the proning team. She never worried about her own safety, just the safety of the patient. Currently, Corey has taken on working in the morning in Endoscopy. In the afternoons, she gives monoclonal infusions for covid positive patients. She took this on when it was fairly new, and she owned it. Corey made changes that were good for the patient and did a great job. In moving the infusions to the Emergency Room, Corey assists the nurses so that they may take care of the emergency room patients. When there are no infusions, Corey will work with the ED nurses in the care of their patients, drawing blood and starting IV's. Corey is that nurse that everyone should look up to. She is caring and respectful to her patients, as well as a team player for the staff that works with her.
