To navigate this with such care speaks to her skill and character.
Yesterday I witnessed an interaction that epitomises Corina's care, commitment, and compassion. A family member called the service in a distressed state. In the setting of a person’s death, it is expected to be an emotional and emotive time and to navigate this with such care speaks to her skill and character. Corina was able to recognise the impact of this upon herself. Corina sought and was offered peer support to talk through/debrief from this situation. It was able to be reflected to her that she engaged with the situation with skill and finesse that often only comes with years of experience. As an older clinician within the service, I am heartened that the future of SPCS (Community Palliative Care Service) is in good hands as Corina will grow into a leader within the area of this, I am sure.
