Throughout my stay, she was a kind and gentle presence, always willing to help and spend time talking with me.
I came to the BHU with severe postpartum depression and suicidal thoughts and actions. I was humiliated and ashamed by my actions and the fact that I was now on an inpatient unit. Courtney did my intake evaluation and helped me to begin the process of forgiving myself and accepting help. She empathized with me and helped me to see that I do a lot every day and I’m not alone in battling hormones that make me feel terrible. Throughout my stay, she was a kind and gentle presence, always willing to help and spend time talking with me. She even told me one day she had woken up in the middle of the night because she had forgotten to call my husband the day before. Courtney is a truly caring provider who takes the time to help patients find their humanity when they are at their worst. Connecting with her was one of the gifts I will carry with me from this difficult but important time.

This young lady is always up for a challenge no matter the obstacles. She expresses her compassion freely and purely as all or nothing regarding her job or patients. I genuinely appreciated every moment she was here while on the 6th floor. Thank you and bless you.
