Courtney Smith is a strong and great leader on our team. Courtney not only gives 100% thoughtfulness to our patient population but also our team. She is innovative and takes the initiative to go above and beyond. Courtney took it upon herself to facilitate some lockers being moved into the breakroom so that there were enough lockers for everyone. She also made a board to organize the keys for our patient lockers so that they were easier to locate for our staff. She offers suggestions on how to make problems better.
Courtney takes the time to really talk to patients that may be voluntary and thinking about signing out. She has a unique perspective and skill for speaking with patients that makes them feel comfortable and cared for. It is not at all uncommon when a patient is agitated for Courtney to be the first one down the hall to the room to sit and talk with the patient. For her it shows that she truly cares that the patient is not only de-escalated but feels safe and wants to stay to get the help they need. Courtney is such a valuable part of our team!
