Crystal was the charge nurse the morning that a family was in the ED, they came from the airport and were on a connecting flight. They came to the ED because the patient passed out on the flight. The patient was an older lady and was accompanied by her two grandchildren (probably in their 20s) and their young son approximately 1 year old. The patient was admitted overnight for a stress test as her symptoms hadn't subsided, so the family was stranded and missed their flight back home. Crystal called and found thema hoteland transportation and provided the family with food. Crystal showed such kindness not only as a nurse but as a person. After Crystal made the arrangements she used her own car and transported them to the nearby hotel and assured the patient that she would be cared for. Crystal is a wonderful unit shift lead, as she leads by example in everything that she does. Crystal is a true DAISY Nurse.
