When my mother had a stroke that left her with brain damage, we began a journey that was one of the most difficult in our lives - placing mother in a long-term care nursing home. We went to quite a few facilities. A friend recommended Woodruff Manor and stated that while the facility was not brand new, the care there was exceptional for people with my mother's condition.
On a whim, we dropped in and the first person we met was Crystal Lallement. She was very understanding and showed us around. We saw people of all stages of illness out of their rooms being engaged by the staff. We saw simple touches or a mention of their name to patients as someone walked by, a quick fix of a shoe that was falling off, etc. Crystal stated they treat their patients with genuine care and compassion, and she put our minds at ease.
During mom's initial days, Crystal made sure to visit her and make her feel at home. When we saw Crystal, she would ask how we were doing and how we were managing this change in our lives. She understood what we and mom were going through, and we saw Crystal treating everyone she came in contact with in the same patient and genuinely caring way.
When we asked Crystal the hard questions, she was honest with us and we appreciate that. We chose Woodruff Manor because of the care and interest we received from Crystal on our first visit. Crystal is a very special person who continues to take a real interest in all her patients and does so with a great spirit of giving.
