Crystal is always willing to help out her co-workers and is always trying to improve our unit. Crystal always takes the good with the bad and never complains. She is always calm – no matter the situation she is faced with.

As an example, one night I was working with Crystal and we had two cesarean section patients, two newborns, one post mastectomy patient, and one post hysterectomy patient plus we had a young patient in pre-term labor. Crystal showed outstanding professionalism with the patient and her family, while still caring for the other patients. She was always attentive to the laboring patient, explaining each process and procedure to the patient as her labor progressed. Crystal is excellent at coaching a laboring patient. She stays calm and is compassionate with each and every patient she cares for. Once the laboring patient delivered a beautiful baby girl, we thought everything was going to calm down a little but within an hour of her delivery, the baby went into distress and Crystal stayed with the mom and explained everything that was being done to help her baby.

Crystal is very dedicated to being a nurse. She is always willing to help no matter the size of her own patient load, she always has a positive attitude and is friendly to staff and visitors. Crystal is the perfect candidate for the DAISY Award and deserves to win. Everyone of her co-workers would agree.
