I had to return to surgery, and on my second recovery, I met Daisy. It was a strange encounter because my surgeon allowed me to wear my sleep mask that covers my eyes to help with the strong light. Well, I met Daisy, or shall I say, we had a cheerful conversation. Very positive, happy voice that made me feel safe. Thank you, Daisy!

Daisy's warm heart, beautiful smile and calming voice is always ready to receive patients coming out of surgery to dispense comfort, compassion, and caring without a prescription. Oftentimes as nurses, we underestimate the power of touch, a smile, and a listening ear, though Daisy's patient recognized these attributes and how she turned the patient's experience into a positive one.
