When I first learned I was pregnant, a friend of a friend mentioned that she knows someone who works as a nurse at JSUMCr L & D. And while she could not say enough amazing things about her, I felt nervous to reach out in case I would bother her! Before I even could, she messaged me; so much helpful information and truly became my rock throughout my pregnancy for any questions or concerns I had. Truth be told, I was extremely anxious to be pregnant and to give birth; Danielle helped me talk through and lessen those fears. As my due date approached, she sent me her schedule and said if I go into labor when she was not on the clock, she would come in to work anyway! When I told her of course she did not have to do that, she insisted. Danielle is someone who is truly passionate about being a nurse and loves her job. From a patient standpoint, it makes all the difference when you can feel that a nurse wants what's best for you and will do anything to make you feel comfortable - especially before I had even arrived at the hospital.

Once the day arrived for my daughter to be born, I immediately messaged Danielle on the way to the hospital. She told me she had the room ready for me and a big pink bow was waiting for us. She was just as excited as I was! I felt so comfortable from the second I got there and that was truly thanks to Danielle. She made the entire labor process feel easy and kept my mood light during a time I had previously been so anxious about. I know without a doubt my labor/delivery and time at the hospital wouldn't have been half as incredible if she wasn't a part of it. After my daughter was born, Danielle made sure to pop in and stay after her shift to ensure I was comfortable and prepared for the first few days of being a new mom, offering any help she could and doing it with a smile.

She is someone who truly changes the energy in a room and that made all the difference. I'm happy to have had her there and more so as a friend and honorary Aunt to my baby girl! She is one of a kind and JS is lucky to have someone like her on staff.
