He was knowledgeable, professional, kind, caring, and very respectful. He made me feel like I was his only patient.
David was the shift nurse who was assigned to me during my ER visit. I was admitted for dizziness, headache, and syncope. I have a history of recent issues and changes with my diabetes treatment. David introduced himself to me and explained what his role would be for the day. He questioned how I was doing and specifically wanted to know what my issues were, or questions were. He then paused and listened. At one point, I needed to get up to go to the bathroom in the commode next to the bed. David was going to help me get up to go to the bathroom, but saw that my feet were not covered. He would not let me get up until he put socks on my feet. Thank goodness he used good nursing and followed good diabetes care for patients because he found a large sore/ulcer at the bottom of my big toe that I was not aware of. He then inspected my entire body for any further sores, offered to apply barrier cream to the inside of my thighs so that I wouldn’t develop any rashes or sores. He then reported it immediately to the hospitalist. The doctors got going quickly with more tests & referral to in house podiatrist for evaluation. He was knowledgeable, professional, kind, caring, and very respectful. He made me feel like I was his only patient. Thank you, David!
