Deana is such a personal, relatable, dependable, and compassionate nurse.
My husband was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2019. At that time, Deana was assigned as our nurse navigator. We had no idea what that was or what she did. And now, as we continue our daily cancer journey, we could not imagine going through this without her. First off, she’s always there. Always. In the background, in the forefront, everywhere. She coordinated all of our doctors to make up our ‘dream team’ before we even knew we needed them. She helped us understand how the treatments would work from day one until my husband was cured. She asked if we understood everything and helped to clarify any questions we had. When my husband’s cancer returned, she was very compassionate. She got to work again on our new plan. In the last meeting with our oncologist, she helped to break down the news in a language we could understand, making sure we understood the progress that he was making in his treatment plan. Deana is such a personal, relatable, dependable, and compassionate nurse. We cannot express how much Deana has truly blessed us on our cancer journey.
