I haven't had to use these facilities much before, but recently I ended up in the ER in the wee hours of the morning, twice in the last six weeks. Deana was my ER nurse both times. She displayed a level of compassion that let me know she cared about how I felt. I knew that she wanted to do whatever she could to help, and that she had my back. I wasn't alone, even though I had arrived that way. I really appreciate that she worked with the doctor to find meds that would work when the one they had given me had fallen far short of expectations. I work with Deanna and thought I knew her as a co-worker, but I saw another side of this awesome nurse: the caregiver. I really felt that she was watching over me. While that might be her job, the compassion she did it with comes purely from inside.
