So when I came into the emergency room with numerous auto-immune disorders, pacemaker, R.A., polyneuropathy, and it goes on and on. Most doctors treat you as another number. Upon entering/admission to the 4th floor…travel nurses changing from day to day…and a holiday weekend pushing my admission into a “skilled nursing facility”, caused me to be still and get well. Part of the healing process takes place when you know you are cared for…a smiling, bright-eyed face comes in every half hour or so and confident about my needs, correcting and supporting me, offering advice to improve and displaying service above and beyond; professionalism as she made sure a medication was given without judgment…which offering her team the support needed for the patient’s success. DeAnna Lyon noticed my teariness…when I opened up and was received with genuine above and beyond, empathy, love, understanding, and offered a hug (gratefully accepted) and hope that although I’m facing life-long health issues, that I was to be better than okay during my Christmas to New Year’s stay. This absolutely beautiful human being gave me life again—hope! She has an incredible love for her patients and is more than a nurse. She is your ambassador for Portneuf.
