My wife was admitted because of sharp pains to abdomen and back and the pain was getting worse quickly. DeeDee was our nurse, and we quickly learned my wife would have to have her gallbladder removed along with stones in the bile duct. Nurse DeeDee was so helpful and compassionate. My wife got very nervous and anxious about her surgery because we went from believing it was bad gas cramps to learning she would have to have a routine surgery. DeeDee immediately noticed my wife was upset and still in severe pain, so she went into action. After the doctor prescribed meds, DeeDee thoroughly explained everything in a very caring and compassionate manner and quickly got the pain meds administered. My wife was put at ease and was sincerely cared for. All our nurses were great, but DeeDee was OUTSTANDING and should be recognized for her professionalism, compassion, and work. Amazing, human, and authentic approach. Nursing must be a tough job seeing people at their worst, but DeeDee was not jaded by her experience. Bravo.
