Denise is an excellent nurse with lots of nursing knowledge and extensive experience, but what she also possesses is a special gift of being able to connect with all patients and families. There has recently been a patient in our Inpatient Rehab Center who had some developmental delays. She was able to connect with this patient on a special level, which very much eased his anxiety of his stay, promoted healing, and improved his overall outcome. His laugh could be heard down the hall when she was his nurse, and his smile would light up the room. He even beamed with joy when her name was even mentioned, even if she wasn't present. It was very apparent how much of an impact her care had on someone that needed that little extra time and attention to make him feel special.
She has the same ability to connect with patients of all ages and abilities, as well as families. She consistently offers comfort, education, and listening ear to patients and families. Her genuine care for patients is apparent and makes a huge impact.
