I just wanted to pass along how Dhakiya went above and beyond here at Methodist North for a patient.
She was on her way home one day around 9:30 am when she encountered a gentleman who was just showing difficulty walking and distress with breathing. She approached him and offered help and retrieved a wheelchair for him. He proceeded to tell her he was there for "something about his heart attack that happened in March", she brought him up to the Cardiovascular Services floor, to see if possibly it was a treadmill test or something of that nature. Once we got his name, we found out he was not scheduled for any testing today in our department. As we worked on finding out where he needed to be, he kept praising and thanking Dhakiya for the help he has received by her.
"She was an angel, who noticed I needed help." He continued on with, some people these days wouldn't have stopped, but she stopped and helped him and continued to help him in order to get him to the right appointment that he had at 10:30.
We did find out he was due for an appointment in Cardiac Rehab, in the 3980 building, behind the hospital. She insisted on continuing to take him to his appointment and made sure he got there without any more difficulties.
Dhakiya, did what she always does, and treated the patient as he was the only one that mattered to her, and with the utmost respect.
