Looking beyond her excellent leadership skills, she consistently and effectively collaborates with her colleagues, staff, physicians, and other providers to ensure our patients receive the absolute best care and can have the most positive of outcomes.
It is with great enthusiasm and pleasure that I submit this nomination of excellence for this nurse manager and leader. I have had the pleasure of working alongside and learning from this Extraordinary Nurse for the past six months. I believe she is very deserving of this award. This manager is a true representative of our AHS PRIDE values. She has significant knowledge and experience in the nursing profession and as a nurse manager, which is evident in her daily practice. She is a valuable resource to the organization and her team. She is also a trusted mentor to her colleagues, peers, and aspiring future nurse leaders.
Besides possessing these wonderful attributes, she is an active participant in multiple and various hospital and unit-based councils. She is innovative with her ideas and translates those thoughts into action. She also participates in hospital wide research and evidence-based guideline investigation and dissemination. She supported, facilitated, and helped execute a multidisciplinary evidence-based quality improvement initiative (clear lock box project) on the unit. She also is a consistent and ongoing presence and supporter to other quality improvement projects that her staff participate in and engage in.
Looking beyond her excellent leadership skills, she consistently and effectively collaborates with her colleagues, staff, physicians, and other providers to ensure our patients receive the absolute best care and can have the most positive of outcomes. She also displays admirable dedication and empathy to her staff and team. She is beyond supportive and is always a resource and source of encouragement to them when and if needed. If someone is going through a challenging time, she makes it a priority for them to have the accommodations that they need.
Not only does she focus on the needs of the unit and her staff, but she is also dedicated to our hospital and system. After her shift is done as a nurse manager, she frequently does extra work as the nursing supervisor. It is a challenging time to be a nurse and we need great leaders, like this one, more than ever before. Her dedication and commitment to our organization, the unit, and patients deserve recognition and appreciation. It is an honor to have the opportunity to nominate and acknowledge her excellence as a nurse leader and many great contributions to the nursing profession.
