Diane is one of those coworkers that you really cannot give a specific story to why she is an exceptional nurse because there would be so many. She is the only coworker I can think of who is so dedicated and committed she will come to work on her days off for team meetings, unit council, and she does an amazing and wonderful job at keeping us updated and involved on how to function better as a team.

For years, Diane has been the “resident baker,” and whatever dessert someone wants for their birthday, she brings it in special for them. This wonderful gesture really brightens the morale up, and people look forward to Diane's birthday treat.

She is the first person here every day and starts working immediately to get our day started off right. Our typical day starts off by getting two to three labs ready in the morning for a full day of cases. She will get things started for not just her room but the other rooms as well. Even in the snowiest of conditions, she has one of the furthest drives of any of us, and she is here every severe weather day.

Diane is very flexible with her workdays and is constantly switching to help accommodate others, even in a pinch.

My favorite thing about Diane is her sense of humor. When she cracks a joke on you, it is a good one. I love working with Diane, and I'm sure our entire team would be so pleased to see her be awarded the DAISY Award. The world needs more people like Diane Baker.
