Dione consistently brings positive, upbeat energy and enthusiasm to the team. She leads by example and makes sure that she develops a relationship with every patient and their family.
Dione has an open-door policy and truly is available to her staff 24/7. There are numerous reasons she is being nominated for this award. We voiced our concern regarding the staffing matrix and the increase in high acuity patients. She responded by doing research, gathering data, and presenting her findings to the administration with the goal of changing the nurse-to-patient ratio from 7:1 to 6:1. This has directly impacted patient and employee safety and satisfaction. She guided us through a recent CARF survey with great success and minimal areas for improvement resulting in a 3-year accreditation. Dione is quick to help her employees when personal matters arise as well as jumping in and helping on the unit. I have personally witnessed her cleaning stool off a patient, passing meds, running a rapid response, and contacting physicians on my behalf. I cannot say enough about my leader. Her professionalism, kindness, and knowledge are a perfect example of Advent Health standards and leadership.

Dione provides her team with the necessary tools and resources that are needed to provide the patients with the highest quality of care. Additionally, Dione is visible, working with team members, answering call lights, and assisting staff with whatever is needed. She seeks our feedback and listens attentively to every member of the team. Without a doubt, Dione cares deeply about every member of the IPR team as well as each and every patient on the unit. She deserves this DAISY Award more than any leader I have ever worked with in the past!

Dione pushes me to be the best at my job I could possibly be, because of her I am always confident when floating to other floors because I know I have the skill set necessary to accomplish any task in any unit. Her compassion is felt outside of her interactions with patients as she is always reaching out and checking on not only me but everyone else on the floor to see if there's anything she can do to better help us in life and also at work. She cares about each and every person who steps foot on the floor and it shows! I could not have asked for a better nurse manager.
