When I learned that a close family friend had been admitted to the hospital, I came in right away. Her family surrounded her as she lay with a forced-breathing mask over her face and morphine to calm her. The family was frightened and had a lot of unanswered questions. Don came into the room to check the patient, and I watched as he gently reached under the mask to close her eye. (It had opened, and he worried it would become dry) we then asked him many questions about her care, what hospice was about, and he answered the family's questions politely, thoroughly, and very much to their satisfaction. He made an otherwise stressful afternoon much more tolerable. So grateful!

Don is the best nurse. Knowledgeable and explains and answers all questions. He supplied all of my needs with a smile. Even though he is very busy, he never seems like he is in a hurry. He fully focuses on each patient and he does with me too. He shows outgoing concern for his patients. He walked in while I was eating breakfast and said, "That is not a diabetic breakfast. Please do not eat that syrup, it has too much sugar for you." I assumed it was a diabetic breakfast, so I poured it all over my French toast. I am so glad he was so aware of my situation and needs that he recognized the mistake and said he would fix it with the kitchen for me. He was such a blessing during a very stressful time.

My 101-year-old father was in the hospital twice within a week. He was agitated and confused. UTI the first time and a bad reaction to an antibiotic the second time. Both times, Don was able to exceed our expectations in spite of his heavy workload. He always took the time to keep us informed while he took excellent care of my father. He always provided whatever was needed in a short time and checked with us often to see if all was well. His patient and compassionate approach to my dad and to our family.
