Donna Reed 2024, RN

Donna Reed is receiving the award because she not only treats the physical aspects of the patient, but also the emotional and spiritual. She is a kind listener to her patients, showing love and compassion as they go through the ups and downs of their dialysis journey. She is a stern educator when needed and always a patient advocate. She is always looking at how she can help the patient, whether it is finding resources in the community or bringing some gently used pots and pans to a patient for their new kitchen.

She doesn't just connect with the patient but also the family. It's not uncommon for a patient's wife to call Donna and just talk about what is going on at home, and Donna will listen, help educate, and guide her through what is to come. Donna is a true DAISY Nurse.
